2026 Steve Stonebraker
Steve Stonebraker is the 2026 Howard Schnellenberger Coach of the Year, an award presented by the Blanton Collier Sportsmanship Group to a coach who reflects the values of integrity, sportsmanship, leadership and mentorship.
In his first season as head football coach at Danville High School, Stonebraker led one of the most impressive turnarounds in Kentucky high school football. He inherited a program that had lost 23 straight games and guided the Admirals to a 9-3 season, including a Class AA playoff victory. More than the record, Stonebraker's recognition reflects the way he leads young people: with character, consistency, respect and a commitment to doing things the right way.
Throughout his coaching career, Stonebraker has earned a reputation as a builder of programs and people. His leadership has helped restore belief, strengthen culture and remind players that football is not only about competition, but about discipline, sacrifice, teamwork and character.
